Woolworths helps Cancer Council get a step closer to a cancer-free future

We are thrilled to announce that our partnership with Cancer Council has raised more than $1.2 million over the past nine years, including $119,162 raised this year through our support of Cancer Council’s Daffodil Day and Pink Ribbon campaigns.

A big thank you to our generous customers and team member who supported this fundraising by purchasing fresh Daffodils in August and Pink Ribbon floral bouquets in October. Part of the proceeds from each sale went to  Cancer Council to help fund their vital work in cancer research, support services, prevention and advocacy - all helping to bring us one step closer to a cancer-free future.

Professor Sanchia Aranda, Cancer Council Australia’s CEO, would like to say a personal thank you to everyone at Woolworths for the incredible support of Cancer Council throughout the last 9 years.  “We rely on the generosity of community donations to fund our work, which is why your support is so important. The unfortunate truth is that chances are, we all know someone affected by cancer.  In Australia today, there are more than 1.1 million people either living with cancer or who’ve survived a diagnosis.  This support has helped fund our vital work in research, advocacy, prevention and support for those affected by cancer. Thank you again for your ongoing support for Cancer Council.”
