The Woolworths VIC/TAS team recently held their inaugural Charity Ball in support of The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal at the Melbourne Convention Centre. The fundraising Charity Ball was attended by 900 team members, their family and friends, to celebrate the good work of The Royal Children’s Hospital.
Funds raised by Woolworths during this Ball, and year-round, help the hospital deliver the best possible care to patients and their families. Last year alone, more than 90,000 children were treated in the emergency department of the Royal Children’s Hospital, in addition to the 255,000 children treated in the hospital’s specialist clinics.
Woolworths has supported the Good Friday Appeal since 1986, and thanks to the dedication and support of our store teams and customers, more than $20 million has been raised in that time.
Andrew Hall, Woolworths General Manager VIC/TAS said: “Woolworths Supermarkets in Victoria have supported the Good Friday Appeal for so many years, but this year our ambition is to have the best fundraising result yet. Our inaugural ball has helped us step towards this goal, so a huge thank you to everyone involved. It was a super team effort from the Woolies team.”
“I’m so very proud of the dedication and support of our teams who all rally around such a fantastic community cause,” said Andrew.
The annual fundraising tally for the Royal Children’s Hospital will be announced to during the Channel 7 Good Friday Appeal telethon.
