Woolworths celebrates the Young Australian of the Year Award nominees

Each year the country celebrates the achievement and contributions of influential Australians through the Australian of the Year Awards. Award nominees inspire us through their achievements and challenge us to make our own contribution to creating a better Australia.

Woolworths is proud to sponsor of the Young Australian of the Year Award, celebrating exceptional young people aged between 16-30 who ignite discussion and create change on issues of personal and national importance.

Woolworths is one of the largest employers of young people in the country and is proud to sponsor the Young Australian of the Year Awards to celebrate the success and accomplishments of young people. Award nominees are future leaders and highlight the power of bringing a little good to everyone every day.

Ross Spencer, Woolworths Operations Manager Queensland said: “It was a very humbling experience to be a member of the assessment panel to identify the Queensland Young Australian of the Year.  There were so many inspirational stories and much deliberation from the panel due to the calibre of the candidates.”

The national winner will be announced on Australia Day Eve, at an event held at Parliament House in Canberra.
